Jim Thorpe Borough, Carbon County, PA
The project involved renovations to the Carbon Career and Technical Institute, originally constructed in 1966. Additions to the east end of the building totaled approximately 35,600 SF on two levels to accommodate updated programs for the school. Parking was expanded and underdrains installed to control springs throughout the site. Stormwater improvements consisting of a collection and conveyance system and two underground detention facilities were also part of the design. The site design also included Erosion and Sediment Pollution controls measures during construction which were reviewed and approved by the Carbon County Conservation District. The project falls within a high quality watershed classification and requires individual NPDES permitting from PA DEP.
